If you are like me and are trying to hold on to dear life to eating the right foods and maintaining a healthy diet. Then you look for alternatives when choosing what to eat at a fast food restaurant. For me, Wendy’s is the only fast food restaurant whose salad making abilities I trust. Not to knock the others who I shall not name. Because I have not eaten a salad from any other fast food restaurant. And no it is not because I never wanted to buy a salad from these nameless restaurants, well actually it is. But Wendy’s was always one of those fast food restaurants that had “healthy choices” like their broccoli and cheese baked potato. I really thought I was eating healthy until calories decided to say, “Hey girl!”, you are not.
Not only does Wendy’s have a better selection of healthy options their salads are yummy and I love how they create different salads to entice the heath gurus like me. Yep I said it I am a health guru and I am claiming it. Right after I put down this burger.
I did try their new salad, the mediterranean one and it was not bad, but I need more.

I need more feta and I want it now. I wish Wendy’s would put a little extra on the side I would pay for it. Or maybe they do. I will have to ask for it next time I buy this salad again.
The cons to this salad is that it does not have enough feta and it has greens. I kid, I kid I know that the salad must have greens or maybe I can ask them to put the greens on the side too. Hmmmmm….
In the salad besides the feta was a sundried tomato quinoa mash up which is really good. I could have gotten a little extra of that also. I loved the flavor of this add-in especially since I have not had the chance to taste quinoa yet. It was quite an addition to the salad. It made the salad seem more like a meal and it was very filling. At least for me because I am used to eating brown rice or some kind of grain with my meal. Hummus was also in this salad. I think it was the mustard colored sauce drizzled on top of the chicken. Finally you put my love on top. At least that is what I thought the sauce was really good. In fact it was so tasty that I really didn’t need the vinaigrette dressing that came with the salad. The hummus and sundried tomato quinoa gave the salad all the flavor it needed.
The salad was good, it does not come in comparison to a salad from a good steak house or fancy restaurant, but it is worth the money that you spend and it helps some one like me to stay on my summer diet. I say summer diet because once bikini season is over donuts and pizza are my friends again.
Go to Wendy’s and give the mediterranean salad a try let me know what you think. I will not tell if you get a juicy burger on the side. That’s what friends are for, keeping secrets one day at a time.
